THE NARRATIVE

As someone who struggles with my relationship with my own gender, I've noticed a general lack of content that captures the feeling of confusion regarding identity. As my generation and those younger than me continue to grow, it seems that a large amount of us are rejecting the gender binaries we were forced into as kids. The Binary Reconstruction is a documentary for those rejecting, those embracing and those questioning their gender.

There is something naturally fluid about being queer. That is why this doc includes hybrid elements of performance and poetic imagery. It is the only way to capture the conflict felt within the queer community regarding identity.

There is a real need for queer films made by queer creators. The Binary Reconstruction aims to open up a conversation about the way we view gender queerness. This film's main goal is to resonate with a young queer audience and encourage those of us who are still questioning to recognize that being confused is perfectly fine and that you can define yourself in whatever way feels comfortable for you.
